John W. Schild Dies Suddenly In Drug Store

John William Schild, 65, of 915 South Tenth [Quincy, IL] died suddenly in the Riley drug store at Twelfth and State shortly before noon Thursday.
Mr. Schild had been a custodian in the city school system. His last assignment was at Junior High School. He retired on Aug. 30.
Born in Quincy, Mr. Schild was the son of John and Matilda Schild. On October 27, 1923, he married Pauline Myra Hufendick. She died on Nov. 28, 1949.
A veteran of World war I, Mr. Schild was active in the American Legion, especially with the drum corps.
Mr. Schild was confirmed and baptized in St. Paul church and was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ.
Surviving are three sons, Eugene C., Robert W., and Paul A.; a daughter, Mrs. Parke (Dorothea) Piper, and eight grandchildren.
